How this list is made
- Futures open interest is the near month and the next month added together, so money moving from one month to the next during rollover does not look like new positions.
- That day's median OI change across all F&O stocks is subtracted, so a market-wide shift does not flood the list.
- A stock is listed when its OI change is at least 3 % after that adjustment and its price moved at least 0.5 % close to close.
- Stocks near quarterly results or a corporate action (dividend, bonus, split) are left out, because their moves are event-driven: 1 left out on this session.
- The price is the close of the session's last five-minute candle, against the previous session's.
What this list cannot tell you. Every futures contract has a buyer and a seller, so a change in open interest involves both sides. A label describes how price and OI moved together on the day, not who is right and not what the price will do next.
